Upper School
Ninth Through Twelfth Grades
Our dedicated teachers challenge Upper School students to think critically, creatively solve problems, appreciate the arts, communicate effectively, collaborate with peers, respect individual differences, and play competitively.
Curriculum
The Upper School curriculum combines essential college-preparatory courses with electives that enrich students' academic experiences. Through activities like using art to explore women’s history or conducting experiments to deepen scientific understanding, students gain a well-rounded education. Diploma requirements are specifically established to provide each student with an education that combines breadth, depth, and flexibility.
All Providence Day School students embrace a global mindset. Our global curriculum and Global Studies Diploma program prepare students for today's highly interconnected world. This program aims to cultivate an appreciation for differences and equip students with the understanding, skills, and character to become active global citizens. To earn the diploma, students must complete a set of global courses, study a world language through all four years, and engage in local and global co-curricular experiences.
