Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging

The Office of Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging (EIB) fosters a school community that reflects the growing diversity of Charlotte, the nation, and the world.

We celebrate individuals with diverse cultures, religions, races, sexual orientations, socioeconomic backgrounds, countries of origin, languages, and other cultural identifiers, all of which strengthen our community. It is through this exchange of world views and experiences that our community gains a better understanding of the values, beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors of each of our members that contribute to and enrich our collective identity.

One way that Providence Day works to create a rich diversity of culture is through its efforts to increase its faculty of color. This challenge is addressed by creating a one-year fellowship program to identify, develop, and support talented faculty of color. They then receive opportunities to lead activities and lessons under the guidance and direction of lead teachers.
