Message from the Annual Fund Chair
Dear Charger Family,
The 2021-22 school year is our family’s ninth at Providence Day. Charlie, class of 2020, is now a Yearling, aka Yuk, (sophomore) at West Point, and Cameron, class of 2022, is beginning his senior year at PD (as I write this, he is on his way to Boston for senior venture). Carla and I feel blessed to be part of the Charger Family, and I am honored to serve as Chair for the 2021-22 Annual Fund.
The Annual Fund is Providence Day’s largest yearly fundraiser. Each year, our entire community of parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and grandparents come together to support our students and to celebrate and strengthen the Providence Day experience. Over the past eighteen months – unprecedented in so many ways – the Annual Fund played a central role in PD’s rapid deployment of remote learning technology, creation of new outdoor spaces for instruction and dining, and delivery of a safe and effective on-campus learning experience for students, faculty and staff.
Having demonstrated our resilience, our community is full of hope and excitement for the return to a more normal school year. As we prepare our return to campus, we look forward with joy to students smiling and laughing on campus, to captivating performances, and to cheering-on our football, basketball and other teams. As we return to a more normal school year, the Annual Fund will again be instrumental in empowering our teachers, faculty and staff to pursue our mission, while creating meaningful and joyful experiences for our kids.
You will receive information about the Annual Fund in your mailbox and a parent volunteer will be reaching out to you this fall to answer your questions and to ask for your support. I hope you will join me in making a gift of whatever amount is meaningful to your family to support our teachers, staff and students who have and will continue to demonstrate such resilience, determination and creativity.
