Upper School Musical to Perform in Scotland in August

Providence Day School’s Upper School musical “Peter and the Starcatcher” will be performed as part of the American High School Theatre Festival (AHSTF), which runs in conjunction with the world-renowned Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland in August.
The PDS crew of 22 students and three faculty members will bring “Peter and the Starcatcher,” a “prequel” to Peter Pan featuring the character “Black Stache” (Captain Hook), to the stage on four dates at Festival Fringe, the largest arts festival in the world.
Following a rigorous nomination process, PDS is one of only 40 high schools accepted to the AHSTF. "Peter and the Starcatcher" was originally performed on campus in November 2016.
The Tony-winning theatrical adaption of Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson's best-selling novels upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan boy becomes the legendary Peter Pan. From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, "Peter and the Starcatcher" playfully explores the depths of greed and despair — and the bonds of friendship, duty and love.
