About PDS Athletics

Wells Fargo Cup recipient five of the previous six years for our overall excellence in varsity athletics.

The Providence Day athletic program takes great pride in developing all of our student-athletes in grades 7-12.  Participation in our athletic program provides our student-athletes with the opportunity to pursue excellence, build long-lasting relationships, and grow both physically and emotionally. We believe that our athletic teams are an extension of our classrooms.  Through quality training and teaching, our student-athletes develop life-long skills that will assist them with any future endeavor. Our coaches are fully committed to educating our student-athletes on the importance of personal integrity and team work.

Our athletic program supports 66 teams in 27 varsity sports and competes annually in over 950 athletic events.  Historically, over 80% of our student body participates in one or more of our sport teams. Honors for our student-athletes include national, state, and local recognition (click for more information). In 2016-17, PD varsity athletic teams earned a second place finish in the Wells Fargo Cup after winning it for the previous five years. We celebrated two All-Americans including a McDonald's Women's Basketball All American, 115 All Conference and 60 All State athletes, three NCISAA state championships and seven CISAA conference championships. Twenty-two of our student-athletes have committed to play collegiately (see list).

2016-2017 Athletic Success At A Glance

The Charger Club is a spirited volunteer organization that serves as an integral part of our athletic program. Their primary goal is to enrich the athletic experience of our students in TK-12, coaches, and staff through the efforts of fundraising and volunteerism. All parents are encouraged to join the Charger Club and become involved in all of our special events during the year. Charger Club Link

Our Charger spirit is contagious! Our student-athletes are enthusiastically supported by our community of friends, alumni, family, and faculty at all of our events. Our pride, spirit, and passion drive us in our pursuit of excellence! We invite you to join us on our journey!
