Math Olympiad

Mathematical Olympiad for Elementary Schools is a nonprofit public foundation that provides opportunities for children to engage in problem solving activities which develop a child’s ability to reason, to be logical, and to be resourceful. Providence Day School has two Math Olympiad teams for 4th- and 5th-graders. The two teams, consisting of 35 students each, are chosen according to their strengths in understanding mathematical concepts and applying these concepts in a problem solving situation.

Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad is a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of K-12 science education, increasing male, female, and minority interest in science, creating a technologically-literate workforce and providing recognition for outstanding achievement by both students and teachers. These goals are achieved by participating in Science Olympiad tournaments and non-competitive events. Providence Day School has one team which is open to 4th and 5th graders and is led by the two Lower School Science teachers.

Safety Patrol

The Safety Patrol is a service club and is open to all 5th-grade students. Duties are assigned in the hallways and sidewalk areas of the Lower School before and after school.
