IDEAS in Lower School

IDEAS in Lower School - 5th grader building a blanket fort
IDEAS acronym spelled out with related brand colors: Innovation-Design-Entrepreneurship-Analytics-Sustainability

Children today are digital natives. They were born into the age of the internet — comfortable with technology. This comfort allows our students to try new things. They are keen to press a button and see what happens. These curiosities, passions, and opportunities continue to grow and expand in Lower School.

Beginning in our Learning Loft, we feature reusable building materials such as Legos®, allowing for creating and recreating, helping define valuable motor skills. The use of tablets assists in learning world languages by helping children see and hear foreign words for easier comprehension. Our fifth graders visit the IDEASxChange space where analog and digital come together, turning creativity into a way of thinking. At Providence Day, we offer our youngest students the space and expertise to experience, exposing themselves to innovative, imaginative, and creative design practices that will grow with them.
