We exist to Inspire

Providence Day School exists to inspire in its students a passion for learning, a commitment to personal integrity, and a sense of social responsibility

1970 Society

Providence Day School was founded in 1970 by 12 families who came together to create a school that would provide an exceptional learning environment for the children of Charlotte.  The 1970 Society was established in the spirit of our founders’ commitment to PDS and recognizes those donors who give $1,000 or more to the school in the current fiscal year.

The 1970 Young Alumni Society

The 1970 Young Alumni Society was established in 2014 and recognizes the philanthropic generosity of our youngest alumni.  1970 Young Alumni Society members are recognized at the following levels:

  • 1-4 years after graduation, gift of any amount
  • 5-9 years after graduation, gift of $100 or more
  • 10-15 years after graduation, gift of $500 or more

Members of the 1970 Society and 1970 Young Alumni Society are invited to our annual Founders’ Dinner stewardship event.  Click below to watch Lee Tappy ’94, Assistant Head of Middle School & Dean of Middle School Students deliver remarks at the 2019 Founders’ Dinner.
