What started as “summer school” at Providence Day more than 30 years ago has evolved into PD Academy today. With 16 for-credit courses and one very popular SAT Review course, PD Academy helps middle and high schoolers catch up, move forward, and reach their academic goals. Our fully-accredited courses range from Middle School English to Computer Applications, Pre-Calculus, and much more. Successful completion will earn a student semester or year credit. All courses are taught by experienced teachers who enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of summer camp.
Our newest course, Global Issues: Themes and Challenges, is offered for those PD students seeking Providence Day School’s Global Studies Diploma. As the first school in the nation to create such a program, offering Global Studies courses during the summer helps students with heavy school-year course schedules complete the diploma requirements.
For students seeking academic enrichment in a shorter time frame, our Specialty Camp offerings include courses for every age level:
Back to Basics (math) and Cool Cursive for the elementary-aged set
Jump Start math for middle schoolers
Advanced Reading, Writing the College-Application Essay, and AP History Jumpstart: Writing the DBQ for high schoolers
Academic rigor has always been a part of Summer Programs....come check it out!
