Dear Providence Day families:
I have been sending many updates to you as our situation has changed rapidly in recent weeks, both globally and locally. Moving forward, I hope to stay connected with you on a weekly basis, typically with an email sent to you on Fridays. Our first exception will be next week, when we head off for observances of Passover and Easter.
In the meantime, I wanted to update you with the latest information about our school events. Since my last note on this topic, the statewide stay-at-home order, as well as federal guidance for restricting activities outside the home, have both extended through the end of April. Therefore, our campus will remain closed to all but a few essential functions through the end of the month, and our remote learning and remote staff functions will continue. We appreciate the feedback given in the divisional surveys sent earlier this week, and we are incorporating it as we move forward.
It is our hope to return to our campus in May. It is too soon to know what conditions we will face then, so we are not announcing any decisions regarding May activities yet. I know that the month of May contains many of our school's most treasured traditions, and I know how much we all - myself included - want to gather as we typically have. The health and safety of our community is our top priority. We will make all decisions with that in mind, and will convey them to you as soon as they are made.
Please be well,
Dr. Glyn Cowlishaw
