Dear Charger Family,
I hope this email finds you all well, healthy, and safe.
Just a month ago, the Parents' Association was planning for our annual Spring Party and Online Auction. Like most of us, never, in my years, would I have thought we would see a day like this. If any good comes out of this experience, it is truly appreciating every daily routine, not taking anything for granted, and letting go of what in hindsight seems insignificant.
To the frontline responders in our community, I say thank you for what you do every day. You are an inspiration for our next generation. I see this in my children's eyes. You put yourself in danger's way to fulfill a commitment you made to yourself. There is no better example to all of us.
For our teachers, who like us had altered spring break plans, no words will ever be sufficient to show our gratitude. Thank you for putting even your altered plans on hold to plan in order to execute remote learning while still caring for your own family. You were presented with a challenge; you were up to it, and, on behalf of all parents, thanks to each and every one of you.
For our Administration, thank you for taking the lead and acting quickly. You made the right call and put the students' best interests first and we are proud to be Chargers.
To our beautiful community – stay STRONG, have faith, and be flexible. We are living in an unprecedented time and a time that history will define us as resilient. We need to be flexible with the model of life we are experiencing and it is new to all of us; families, parents, students, and teachers. Everyone is doing their best. Be patient, even with yourselves.
For now, our Spring Party and our Online Auction have been postponed indefinitely. We extend our many thanks to the volunteers who work diligently to make these events, which support our school, a success, and to our many donors, large and small, who continuously amaze us with their generosity.
When this cloud passes, we shall celebrate life again together!
For now, stay safe.
Thanks, Dima Daher Parents' Association President 2019-2020
