Providence Day School celebrates Owen Tappy’s National Letter of Intent Signing

 

Charlotte, NC – April 17, 2019 – On Wednesday, April 17, Providence Day School celebrated senior Owen Tappy’s signing his National Letter of Intent to play baseball for the Tigers of Hampden-Sydney College. Owen is a two-year starter for the Chargers and was first team All-Conference and All-State in his Junior year. Currently, he is batting .351 with four doubles and one home run. On the mound, he is 5-1 with a .833 Earned Run Average. The right hander has only walked 8 batters so far this season and has recorded 50 strikeouts. His two-year total is 20 walks and 121 K’s. When Owen’s not pitching, he is playing either first or third base.                

Hampden-Sydney College is a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), one of the nation's largest Division III conferences. The 16-member ODAC, including one associate member, stands as the third-largest multi-sport NCAA Division III conference in the country.

Owen signed his letter in front of family, coaches, faculty, and students in the McMahon Fine Arts Center on the campus of Providence Day.
