Providence Day runs away with the CISAA Boys Conference Championship

Providence Day's Boys Track and Field Head Coach Ben Hovis summed up the CISAA Conference Championship best: “What an incredible two days for the boys! This may have been the most lopsided CISAA team title in history. It's hard for me to think of another meet where 226 points won and 89 points was the runner-up… and I've been around for a long time.”

Coach Hovis also added: “Everyone that competed and was a part of this team should be extremely proud! When looking at each event, it's crazy to think that you all won every individual running event except for one.”

In order to receive “All-Conference” recognition, an individual or a relay team has to place first in an event. Here are our All-Conference athletes or first place finishers:

100m - Brunner Williams

200m - Brunner William  *new school record

400m - Bryce Scott  *new school record

800m - Colter Nichols

1600m - Colter Nichols

3200m - Christian Landis

300 Hurdles - Luke Manna

4x400 Relay - Brunner Williams, Bryce Scott, Kasey Brooks, Colter Nichols

Long Jump - Chris Peal

Additionally, the 4x200 relay team of Bleu Coleman, Brunner Williams, Bryce Scott, and Chris Peal finished runner-up, but in the process established a new PD school record.

Next up for our Varsity Boys Track and Field Team are the NCISAA State Championships at Cary Academy this coming Saturday, May 15. The Chargers will be looking at defending their title from 2019 (No championship in 2020).
