Performing Arts

Students in Orchestra

Providence Day offers a comprehensive TK-12 music program. Music classes are part of the regular curriculum for TK-4th grade. Fifth Graders are given the opportunity to choose between band, chorus, or strings. The groups perform several times during the year.

Middle School and Upper School band, chorus, and strings classes offer a logical progression of study built on the foundation acquired in fifth grade. Honors level Band, Chorus, and Strings are available to seniors who have consistently been enrolled in these ensembles. Other Upper School music electives include AP Music Theory and Jazz Band.

Extra-curricular opportunities include Middle School A Cappella and Upper School A Cappella.

Theatre classes participate each year in the NCTC One-Act Festival or a comparable event.

Extra-curricular theatre opportunities include a Lower School Musical, a Middle School Play or Musical, an Upper School Musical, and an Upper School Play.
