

Tickets to the 2016 Blumey Awards go on sale at 10 a.m. today, May 5.
Providence Day’s Upper School musical “Anything Goes” has received 10 Blumey nominations, and as finalists for Best Musical will perform a live number during the awards ceremony at Belk Theater on Sunday, May 22, at 7 p.m.
The Blumey Awards honor excellence in high school musical theater. Blumenthal Performing Arts launched the program in 2012 to recognize, reward and encourage talent and achievement in musical theater among high school students in the greater Charlotte area.
A musical with music and lyrics by Cole Porter, “Anything Goes” concerns madcap antics aboard an ocean liner bound from New York to London. The musical was performed in the McMahon Fine Arts Center theater April 7-9.
