New Interactive Map Highlights PD's Global Connections

Over the past several years Providence Day School has successfully connected students with the world. With the launch of the interactive global map on PD’s global education website, visitors can click on icons across the globe to see where our community of students, faculty, and staff have journeyed from 2018 to the present.

PD is a proud global member of Round Square, an internationally diverse network of 200 like-minded schools in 50 countries on six continents. The school's membership in Round Square has allowed these vibrant connections to flourish, particularly during the pandemic, by providing more opportunities than ever before to create peer-to-peer connections across the globe.

“PD has always been active in Round Square since the partnership began in 2016,” says Director of Global Programs Jessica Williams. “This partnership is what has opened opportunities for our students when everything shut down because of COVID.”

Through Round Square exchanges and conferences, educational travel, and more, Round Square schools connect and collaborate through experiences that develop global competence, character, and confidence in students. Recently, they have also provided virtual language dialogues, Lower School exchanges, and postcard events.

Travel is still a meaningful facet of global education, and during the summer of 2022, Middle and Upper School students have four opportunities to participate in regional travel with global significance including trips to Alaska, Arizona, California, and Puerto Rico. PD’s global travel learning goals are to explore another country through hands-on experience, engage in a reflective learning process to extract lessons learned, and grow personally to become a more confident and accountable global citizen.
