Jana Dorsey Joins DEI Team as Associate Director of Equity and Inclusion Outreach

The Providence Day School Office of Equity and Inclusion welcomes Jana Dorsey as the Associate Director of Equity and Inclusion Outreach. Dorsey joins Dr. Nadia Johnson, Director of Equity and Inclusion, and Nora Hudson, Associate Director of Multicultural Programs, in this newly created position.

As Associate Director of Equity and Inclusion Outreach, Dorsey will support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) outreach for PD staff and alumni. She will work closely with admissions and prospective families to support new families of color and attract more socio-economic diversity to the school.

“We are thrilled to have Jana on our team to further the DEI work our office has pursued as part of our five-year strategic plan,” says Johnson. “Jana’s experience uniquely positions her to advance our commitment to equity and inclusion, both within the PD community as well as the larger Charlotte community. Since joining, Jana has prioritized increasing the office’s social media presence to keep our community informed as well as celebrate the diversity of cultural heritages represented on campus.”

“I am honored to have joined Nadia and Nora’s team and the Providence Day community,” says Dorsey. “As an alumna of an independent school, I look forward to drawing on that experience in this new role and I am excited to get to know you all! Please feel free to reach out anytime and be sure to follow us on Twitter and Instagram.”

Dorsey earned a Master of Science in Global Studies & International Relations from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Purdue University. In addition to several roles in university recruitment, enrollment management, and student affairs, prior to joining PD, she served as a Deputy Operations Director for a presidential campaign. Dorsey speaks Spanish and is a dual citizen of the United States and St. Kitts/Nevis.
