E-Waste Collection Takes Place on PD Campus April 15-23

The Providence Day School Parents’ Association is excited to announce a partnership with Hendrick Luxury Group as a Social Responsibility and Community Outreach partner for the next year. The first joint event is a collaboration with the Upper School Sustainability Club and the Middle School Go Green Club in a campaign to reduce E-Waste in the greater Charlotte community in celebration of Earth Day on April 22.

E-waste was once considered electronic equipment that no longer works and is ultimately thrown away. Today, technological advances occur rapidly, rendering many operable electronics obsolete in just a few years. These obsolete devices are discarded and E-waste is growing faster than ever. Goodwill is a state-certified collector of electronic waste and all donated electronics will be deconstructed and recycled in a responsible, eco-friendly manner.

The PD community can support the campaign by donating unwanted electronic equipment between April 15-23, 2021. Accepted items for donation can be found here.

Providence Day campus E-Waste dropoff dates and locations:

  • Thursday, April 15 and Friday, April 16 – Upper Deck at Spirit Run Packet Pick-up
  • Monday, April 19 through Friday, April 23 – West Lot by Extended Day

Let’s Celebrate Earth Week together and do our part!
