Blumey adjudicators attended the Upper School spring musical, "Once Upon a Mattress," on opening night. The following performers were nominated for their excellent performances.

• Best Actor: Carson Sacco as Prince Dauntless
• Best Actress: Avery Thalberg as Princess Winnifred
• Best Supporting Actor: Astrid James as the Jester
• Best Supporting Actress: Cassie Miller as Lady Larkin
• Best Featured Performer: John Carter Krell as King Sextimus

Caroline Grubbs was not only nominated, but made it into the Top 6 for Best Student Set Designer.  We are extremely proud of the entire cast and crew of Mattress! A group of PD theatre students/faculty will be cheering them on in the audience at the awards ceremony on Sunday, May 21 at 7 p.m. at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.

The Blumey Awards celebrate the best of high school musical theater by "recognizing, rewarding, and encouraging talent and achievement in musical theater among high school students in the greater Charlotte area."
