Five Providence Day School Student Foundation Board members – Cole Jessey ‘21, Charlie Rosbrook ‘20, Olivia Stafford ‘20, Nadia Wheeler ‘22, and Tracy Zheng ‘20 – virtually participated in this year’s SEED20 program. Created by Social Venture Partners (SVP), this program identifies, highlights, and connects the community to innovative ideas for tackling pressing social challenges in Charlotte.

During the event, each of the ten finalists gives a three-minute pitch telling their story. All Providence Day participants were able to select their favorite presenter of the evening and the winner receives thousands of dollars for their organization. Read more about SEED20 and the finalists here.

The Providence Day Student Foundation Board consists of PD students who are mentored and guided by professionals about how charitable foundations are structured and operate. The Student Foundation Board grants money raised by the Student Investment Board. Thanks to generous gifts granted in January of 2018, the Student Investment Board was launched and PD student participants continue to learn about securities and global markets while investing real money.
