Providence Day School physics teacher Jennifer Haney recently became the first PD faculty member to complete the National Geographic Educator Certification program.
This endorsement is based on the National Geographic Learning Framework, which is built around a set of attitudes, skills, and knowledge areas that embody the attributes of an explorer. National Geographic Certified Educators are committed to teaching their students about the world and how it works, empowering them to succeed and to make it a better place.
Earning certification involves a three-step process that typically takes educators about 20 hours to complete: taking the introductory workshop, implementing a set of activities or lessons, and submitting a capstone report and video.
