Fourth Grade Students Raise Money for The Lunch Project

Providence Day School fourth grade students raised $4,650 to support The Lunch Project, an organization that powers community-run school lunch programs in Tanzania. This amount of funding provides 11 weeks/54 school days of lunches for the Lamanyata Primary School in Arusha, Tanzania. This social studies unit compares and contrasts North Carolina with Tanzania, examining geography, government, crops, culture, and more.

PD students raised money in various ways for this service project with bake sales, bringing in neighbors’ trash and recycling cans, dog walking, donating allowances, and selling their personal art.
