On Saturday, April 15, The PD eSports Rocket League team competed at the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA) State Championships. The team consisted of freshman Calvin Currier, junior Daniel Moore, and senior Will Askins.

Since there were only two Rocket League teams, there was just one best of seven match between the Chargers and the team from Cannon School.

After scoring the first goal of the first game, it looked promising for PD, but unfortunately, Cannon was just too strong and won the match four games to nil. However, there was one "almost" moment in the third game. PD was up 2-1 with time running out. It looked like victory was assured, but Cannon's star player scored a goal right at the buzzer, and they ended up winning in overtime.

It was a great experience and the team can honestly say they finished second in the state! With our new eSports coach coming on board in May, this will be a positive building towards next year.
